Hi there! I'm Liah Hughes, owner and operator of Liah Roebuck Bridal. After falling in love with sewing at High School, I went off to further this passion at Massey University, New Zealand and the Academy of Arts University San Francisco completing a Bachelor of Fashion Design with honours. Following graduation Liah Roebuck Bridal was born, offering a unique off the rack and custom design service specialising in wedding dresses and accessories.
Proud to be 100% New Zealand made, all dresses and products are designed, handcrafted and fitted right here in my local New Plymouth studio. This means no detail is forgotten or overseen, I work with you every step of the way.
I have two options available, premade/off the rack and custom made giving you the option to buy straight from the shelf in studio, or a full custom design experience. My gowns are modern, elegant and stylish; inspired by delicate lace, soft sheer fabrics and romantic detailing that won't weight you down. Passionate about customising my products to incorporate each bride’s unique personality and style, working hand in hand to create something really special. So if my pre made gowns aren’t quite you, that’s perfect! Lets use them as a base to create the perfect dress just for you.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
I work out of my custom built studio just 5mins from the CBD in New Plymouth, New Zealand. To ensure a private and intimate consultation I am By Appointment Only and my address and buiding details are given once you have booked.
I’M FROM OUT OF TOWN. CAN I STILL GO CUSTOM?
I love working with out of town brides! I do require you to visit my studio for fittings though so this is something you need to factor in. We can plan to incorporate two fittings per visit to minimise travelling.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO A CONSULT?
When we meet for the first time, bring along any ideas whether small or large, anything helps! This could include design ideas, wedding factors such as season (wedding date), location, theme and colours. I have a range of off-the-rack dresses in studio to try on, these help us find out what style suits your shape and can be used as a base to design off if going custom. When trying on, its a great idea to be wearing nude undergarments. And if you have your wedding shoes - that's great!
AFTERWARDS, HOW DO I WAS MY DRESS?
All dresses are dry clean only and come with a card with fabric contents.
HOW EARLY DO I HAVE TO BOOK IN?
Ideally 3-6months is required to produce a gown for you depending on the time of year. Some brides love to visit a year out, and some one month due to time restraints, so please reach out and enquire as if i have availability shorter time frames are welcome!
HOW LONG IS A CONSULT, AND DOES IT COST?
Your initial consultation is $50 for one hour, and additional meetings will also incur a $50 fee. This cost will be deducted off your final cost if you choose to proceed with a gown. You will have a chance to browse through and try on off the rack gowns, look at the range of fabric, lace and trims.
CAN I BRING ANYONE WITH ME TO MY CONSULT?
Friends and family are always welcome here at the studio. Because we are in a small space, I would like prior notice for any parties exceeding 3.
CAN I RETURN MY DRESS?
We do not accept returns on bespoke garments. All dress sales are final.
CAN I RETURN MY ACCESSORIES?
All accessories including Robes, Veils are made to order so we do not accept returns.
WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF A DRESS?
My off-the-rack gowns range anywhere from $2000-$3500 Incl GST. These gowns can be purchased off the rack,and altered to fit. These are all one off dresses.
My custom design gowns have ranged from $2,500-$5,500 Incl GST. These are priced during the design process and is dependant on lace and fabric selected. If you have a budget in mind, let me know early so we can design around this.
HOW MANY GOWNS DO YOU HAVE IN STUDIO?
Being a small bridal company, I have at any given time 15-30 off-the-rack gowns you can try on at our consultations. You can purchase this gown, or use it as inspiration to go full custom made and create your dream gown. To see majority of them that are in studio you can visit the store.

DO YOU MAKE BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES?
No sorry! Due to high demand with bridal gowns, I do not make bridesmaid dresses.
